Iveta Jiříková

Soprano Iveta Jiříková was educated at the Pardubice Conservatoire (Svatava Šubrtová) and the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Bratislava (Magdalena Blahušiaková). In 2000 she was the winner of the International Vocal Competition of M. Schneider-Trnavský in Trnava, Slovakia, and won the second prize at the International Antonín Dvořák Vocal Competition Karlovy Vary.
During her studies she appeared as Dido (Dido and Aeneas) in Stadttheater Giessen. In 2001 she was engaged by the National Theatre in Prague opera where she made her debut as Mařenka (The Bartered Bride) and gradually built a repertoire including Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Micaela (Carmen), Míla (The Fate), Adelaide (La Belle et la Bete), Karolka (Jenůfa), Lenio (The Greek Passion) or Blaženka (The Secret). With the National Theatre opera ensemble she was part of the tour to Salzburg (The Bartered Bride), Japan (Le nozze di Figaro) and Teatro Real Madrid (The Fate).
Iveta Jiříková is a standing guest to the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava where she appears as Mařenka (The Bartered Bride), Micaela (Carmen), Vendulka (The Kiss) and Liu (Turandot). In F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec she studied the principal role in Tchaikovsky's Jolanta and Mimi (La Boheme). As Rusalka she appears as a guest in the National Theatre in Brno, as Mimi in the Košice State Theatre and as Agnes (Orleanskaya deva) she appeared in the Theater Bielefeld. In the autumn 2004 she performed as Foerster's Eva at the Wexford Opera Festival. She interprets songs (Dvořák, Rachmaninov and Strauss), cantatas and oratories (Dvořák's Saint Ludmila, Stabat mater, Requiem, Mass D Major, Te Deum, Janáček's Glagolitic Mass, Buquet of Flowers by B. Martinů and Ryba's Czech Christmas Mass).
