Apart from his opera career (opera houses in Berlin, Essen, Wuppertal, Kiel, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Zürich and Paris) and a career of a chief conductor (Venezuela and Nurenberg Symphonies) he also acted as a general music director of the towns of Bielefeld, Kassel and Innsbruck. Since summer 2006 he has been a chief conductor of Munich Symphony.
