Duo Vilém Veverka a Kateřina Englichová oboe and harp

Kateřina Englichová, one of the most sought after harpists of her generation, Katerina Englichova performs all over Europe, North America, Japan, Hong Kong and New Zealand.She has collaborated with artists such as Mstislav Rostropovitch, Josef Suk, Gerard Causee, Cynthia Phelps, Michel Lethiec, and Eugenia Zukerman, and with many ensembles, including the Prazak Quartet, the Wihan Quartet, the Martinu Quartet and the Haas Quartet.She has performed at numerous international festivals such as Tanglewood and the Tucson Music Festival in the USA, Music by the Red Sea in Israel, Pacific Music Festival in Japan, Rencontres Musicales d'Evian and Festival d'Ile de France, and in the Czech Republic at Prague Spring, Prague Autumn, and Festival B. Martinů.

 

Vilém Veverka is in many aspects the most distinctive personality of the new generation or czech oboe players. He impresses also by the extention of his education starting from the Conservatoire and Music Academy in Prague, graduating from the Hochschule „Hans Eisler" in Berlin and finishing his studies at the prestigious Karajan Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2003 he prevailed over the other participants at the internationally most recognized oboe competition organized by Sony Music Foundation in Tokio. He captivates with his brilliant technique, phenomenal interpretation and passion not only for the contemporary music.
